A knife you can brag about

Skinning a scrub bull with a Randall model 8…because Miguel wanted a full flat skin

Happy Friday folks, Bradley Johnson here and today I would like to tell you about an overhyped legacy product that despite all practical purposes, you most certainly need: Randall Made Knives.
I’m a knife junkie, but more importantly that that, I am a true lover of legacy brands. Brands that have essentially stayed the same forever. Started in 1938 by Bo Randall, Randall Made Knives are one of those legacy brands. Why is that? The simple answer is, they are cool as hell. Is it just a knife? Of course it is! But do these knives evoke passion for an adventurous life? To me, that answer is absolutely. A Randall Made Knife is a symbol of Adventure for those who appreciate a forgotten time and yearn for the unknown… they are also just awesome and that should be all the reason needed.

During WW2, Korea, and Vietnam Randall’s became known by soldiers as a badge of honor. In addition to soldiers, they were the go-to, top of the line kit for hunters, outdoorsman and adventurers. This popularity is to such an extent that if you order a Randall today the wait time is 6 years. The exception to this is ordering directly from a dealer which can bring the wait time down to about 8-10 months. I have two, a 4in Model 8 that is my main hunting knife and my 7in Model 1 that is my main everything else knife. I have killed pigs on my bachelor trip, cut my wedding cake, opened champagne to celebrate and attached many memories hunting all with my Randall’s. Gary Powers had a stag handle Model 8 just like mine in his flight suit when he went down over Russia, the man had taste.

Can I do the exact same stuff with modern production knives? Absolutely I could! Where is the fun in that? Carry and support a Legacy brand like Randall Made Knives.
